Bohemians moved off the bottom of the Premier Division table courtesy of a Graham Lawlor header in a poor encounter at Dalymount Park yesterday.

Lawlor rose high to head past Steven Williams on 53 minutes, after Fergal Harkin had sent the ball over from the dead-ball line.

It was enough to take the hosts out of the doldrums and their game improved dramatically with Harkin on the left and Brian Mooney and on the right at last delivering some telling ball to Lawlor and Swan up front.

And within minutes of Lawlor opening the scoring, Mooney almost doubled his side's lead, with only the woodwork coming to Dundalk's rescue following a spectacular strike from the winger.
