Croatia left out World Cup stars Robert Prosinecki and Drazen Ladic when they named an 18-man squad for next month's Euro 2000 qualifier against Ireland.

Croatia, third at the World Cup finals, will set up camp in the Adriatic town of Porec next week. They play Ireland on September 5th in Dublin.

Midfielder Prosinecki has vowed not to play for the national team while Miroslav Blazevic remains coach. Another absentee is injured defender Slaven Bilic of Everton. Blazevic has called up three new players from defending champions Croatia Zagreb - defender Mario Tokic, and midfielders Tomislav Rukavina and Mario Cvitanovic.

His attack will be boosted by the return of striker Alan Boksic of Italian side Lazio, who missed the World Cup through injury. Boksic is expected to renew his striking partnership with Cup top scorer Davor Suker of Real Madrid.
