Bombay Mix, who contests the Tattersalls Race at Sligo this afternoon, led throughout when winning his maiden over the course and distance on soft going in June and while ground conditions which are expected to be somewhat better on this occasion, the Shalford colt is napped to take the prize for the David Wachman stable.

In the meantime, Bombay Mix has been competing in nurseries. He again attempted to make all the running at Galway, but was beaten before the straight and had to settle for fourth place. Different tactics were tried at Gowran and Bombay Mix ran on under pressure to get within just over two lengths of the winner, Risk Material in what looked a competitive race.

The probable favourite and the likely danger to Bombay Mix is Voodoo Lily, who has run well at Fairyhouse and the Curragh in two other Tattersall-sponsored races. On a line through boat Strand, it should be close between the pair, but Bombay Mix may make his greater experience tell.

Michael Grassick seldom leaves this venue without a winner and his Gladiatorial, top weight in the Strandhill Handicap Hurdle, might be the one to be on this time. In a similar event here in August, Gladiatorial made a valiant effort to get within a length of one of the bottom weights, Roseaustin.

Loughmogue, although now a seven-year-old, is still running consistently well and the yielding ground in the September Handicap will be to her liking but I prefer the chances of Brackloon Boy, who went within a neck of catching Teacher Preaacher over seven furlongs early last month.

Successful in last year's running of the Tattersalls Race, Strawberry Beds makes his hurdling debut in the Yeats Maiden Hurdle. His trainer, Pat Martin, provided the winner last year.
