BOSRA SHAM can beat Mark of Esteem to lift the £250,000 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot this afternoon.
The 2,000 Guineas winner Mark of Esteem was comfortably brushed aside on his previous visit to Ascot for the St James's Palace Stakes at the Royal meeting and beat largely second division rivals at Goodwood last time.
He'll do very well to concede 3lb to Bosra Sham, who has looked one of the best fillies seen in recent years ever since her victory in the Fillies' Mile at this meeting 12 months ago.
She trounced the opposition in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury in April prior to an authoritative success in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
This is no two horse race, with only Charnwood Forest of the other runners not successful in Group One company. But the two Guineas winners are the pair to concentrate on and Bosra Sham looks the one to back.
Jersey Stakes winner Lucayan Prince can make a triumphant return to Ascot for the Racal Diadem Stakes. He proved his 50 to 1 success at the Royal meeting was no fluke when runner up in the July Cup subsequently and will find this surface much more suitable than when he was taken off his feet in the Haydock Park Sprint Cup.
Back Red Camellia to land the Group One Fillies' Mile tomorrow. She has proven herself an undoubtedly high class filly, breaking the course record when scoring in Listed class at Sandown before she was the easiest winner of a pattern race all season in the Group Three Prestige Stakes at Goodwood last time.
A good gallop is on the cards for the Tote Sunday Special Handicap with several front runners in opposition. That will ideally suit Sheer Danzig, who is at his best coming from behind off a strong pace and is still unexposed over this mile and a half trip.
Five furlong specialist Midnight Escape looks the best bet of the day in the Ascot Rated Handicap.
He put up a smart effort on his last visit to this course in June.
