Belfast Harlequins - 38 Old Crescent - 8:lbelfast Harlequins capitalised on a rather modest diet of possession to set themselves up for a Division Two final at Lansdowne on May 4th when they snuffed out the enterprising challenge of a lively Old Crescent side on Saturday.
The visitors often looked the more threatening unit, yet it was Harlequins, boosted by a first-minute try from Rhys Botha, who ultimately carried the greater menace.
Altus Meyer responded with an early penalty for Crescent before Andy Lawe went in for a Harlequins try which Malone converted.
Meyer, however, continued to be a thorn in the side of the Harlequins defence and his try before the break kept Old Crescent's hopes alive.
However, when Chris McCarry and Ajar Derwis both went in for Harlequins tries, the Belfast side took a firm grip on the game.
They finished strongly, too, with Richie Weir and Andy Emerson running in for tries.
Malone converted both to give his team a rather flattering winning margin.
