Two second-half goals saw Derry cause a shock in this Ulster Minor championship game against Monaghan at Celtic Park yesterday afternoon.

Darren McGeehan netted when he fisted the ball over his shoulder in the 40th minute to give his side a 1-9 to 0-6 advantage.

Monaghan tried hard to get back into the game; but Derry captain Jonathan Niblock scored a second goal in the 43rd minute.

Monaghan's Fergal Mone gave his side hope when he scored a goal in the 46th minute; but it was too little too late.

Derry's Patrick Bradley gave a superb performance on the top right, and he top scored with seven points of his side's total.
