Drogheda U 1 Bray W 4:A THREE-goal salvo in the space of six minutes in the first half saw Bray ease to victory in this end-of-season dead rubber against a Drogheda side that had all the appearance of an outfit already in close season mode.
Bray hit the front in the second minute when the home defence stood still and allowed Gary Shaw to race through and pick his spot.
Drogheda had chances to level as Tiarnan Mulvenna shot straight at Darren Quigley and Lee Lynch put a shot narrowly wide.
Bray then ran amok in a six minute spell, rattling the net three times.
Dan McGuinness began the rout as he drifted diagonally across the box, wrong-footing several defenders before hitting the target.
McGuinness then turned provider for John Mulroy who, unmarked, sent a header home before Gary Dempsey’s strike from 25 yards nestled in the top corner to make it 4-0.
In the second half Daire Doyle went close to nabbing a fifth for the visitors while Gavin Brennan with a free and Mulvenna’s header weren’t far away from getting Drogheda off the mark.
United did manage to take the bare look off the scoreboard before the finish when Philip Hand’s free deflected off Conor Murphy into his own goal.
