Bray Wanderers - 2 Derry City - 3: Having found his goal touch with his first of the league season last week, Kevin McHugh added two more as Derry consolidated their second place in the table with their seventh win in succession.
But Derry manager Stephen Kenny won't be happy that his side, cruising 3-0 up at the break and perhaps with their minds already on next week's Uefa Cup trip to Gretna, allowed Bray back into the game in the second half.
Derry took command early to punish woeful defending to score twice inside the opening quarter.
On 10 minutes Derry captain Darren Kelly was left unmarked to head Ruaidhri Higgins' free-kick back across goal for the equally free McHugh to head past Gary Rogers.
Bray conceded an equally soft second on 24 minutes. Forde's long free-kick was flicked on by Stephen O'Flynn and McHugh got between the central defenders to toe the ball past the out-rushing Rogers.
There was little Bray might have done to prevent Derry's third in first-half stoppage time. Debutant left-back Shaun Holmes' cross was cushioned down by McHugh for Martyn who found the top corner of the net with a sublime right-foot volley.
Andrei Georgescu gave Bray hope within three minutes of the restart with a delightfully taken goal. Stephen Fox hooked a poor clearance back into the area and the little Romanian cleverly flicked the ball over a defender before volleying past Forde from 16 yards for this third goal in three starts.
Georgescu then instigated a grandstand finish on 83 minutes when he skipped to the end line to cross for substitute Colm James to blast home.
