While missing the chance to go third in the table, aspiring Bray Wanderers will have been happy to come away with a point-point in this entertaining encounter at Belfield yesterday.
The home side handed Bray not one but two penalties. The first of these came after 26 minutes when Colm Tresson was pushed inside the area following a ball from striker Paul Keegan.
Tresson himself took it, but UCD goalkeeper Barry Ryan guessed correctly and pushed the effort around the post.
But, from the resultant corner, UCD defender Clive Delaney handled and this time Eddie Gormley assumed responsibilities and Bray's captain found the bottom left corner of the net.
UCD's best chances in the first half fell to Delaney and captain Tony McDonnell, and it was the latter who finally drew the sides level on 54 minutes.
From the edge of the box McDonnell unleashed a low leftfooted drive that crept inside Eddie Van Boxtel's right post.
