Galway U 0 Bray W 6:IT HAS been a truly demoralising campaign for Galway United, who crashed to a 16th loss in 18 Terryland Park league matches last night.
Bray Wanderers struck four goals between the 38th minute and the interval and in that spell all of Galway’s limitations were exposed.
Bray controlled the contest, with Gary Dempsey and Graham Kelly ruling the midfield exchanges. Despite squandering several chances, Bray eventually netted in the 38th minute as Gary Dempsey released winger Jake Kelly, who obliged with a crisp finish.
Two minutes later Galway custodian Conor Winn’s weak kick-out allowed Conor Murphy claim a second for the visitors.
In the 42nd minute Colm Tresson, the 40-year-old Bray veteran, nodded a third following a Jake Kelly corner. Galway were reeling and Bray landed a fourth goal in first-half stoppage-time when Waters reacted briskly in the area after Winn failed to gather a Dempsey free-kick.
Ten minutes after the restart Bray rattled the Galway net for a fifth time as the locals were caught out by a simple situation.
Tresson’s right-wing cross caused panic in the Galway defence, who didn’t clear the danger adequately, and Graham Kelly’s finish was precise.
Bray substitute Shane O’Neill’s goal rubbed salt in Galway’s wounds in additional time.
