LEAGUE champions Derry City opened the scoring after 16 minutes at the Carlisle Grounds yesterday when Gary Beckett drilled past Bray goalkeeper, Colin Kelly and from then on the result was never in doubt.

Beckett made it 2-0 after 37 minutes, but Bray hit back within a minute through impressive midfielder Kieran O'Brien.

But any hopes of an upset by the home side were scuppered by a two goal blast in two minutes from Peter Hutton, midway through the second half. Eight minutes later Paul Curran headed home the fifth.

Bray cot a consolation goal in injury time when Kieran O Brien converted a penalty.
