US TOUR: Bart Bryant and Retief Goosen share the lead on 10 under par after two rounds of the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Georgia.

Overnight leader Bryant held his nerve to shoot a two-under par 68, and was joined on 130 by Goosen, who registered a 66.

Despite some wayward driving, Tiger Woods is in a three-way tie for second after a round of 67. He is joined on seven-under par by Ben Crane and Scott Verplank.

Padraig Harrington is back at the business end of the leaderboard at three under par following a round of 66.

EUROPEAN TOUR: Paul McGinley has been named the European Tour's player of the month for October following his victory at the season-ending Volvo Masters in Spain on Sunday.

The 38-year-old pulled off the biggest win of his 14-year European Tour career when he came from four strokes off the lead going into the final day at Valderrama. A flawless four-under-par 67 for a 10-under-par total of 274 left the Irishman two strokes clear of second-placed Spaniard Sergio Garcia.

McGinley's winning aggregate equalled the tournament's record low, set by Scotland's Colin Montgomerie in 1993.

"I felt I would win a big tournament because of the quality of my golf and that is what pleased me most about winning the Volvo Masters, the size of the title and how I successfully moved up mentally to compete at the highest level," McGinley said in a statement.

"Was it better than the Ryder Cup putt?" added the Irishman, who sank the winning putt for Europe at The Belfry in 2002. "Well it was different. It was selfish. That one was for Paul McGinley, and to be voted European Tour Golfer of the Month in recognition of the victory simply puts the icing on the cake."

McGinley held off competition from Montgomerie, who clinched a record eighth European order of merit titl , and twice US Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal.
