Gowran Report: Trainer Liam Burke and jockey Davy Russell, both from Co Cork, recorded a notable double at Gowran yesterday, claiming the two most valuable races with promising horses.
Thyne Again was the star of the Burke show, running out the impressive four-length winner of the competitive novice hurdle.
Sporting four white 'socks', the horse moved through to lead before two out, and showed impressive acceleration when drawing clear of Pedrobob to win by four lengths.
Burke has previously issued very positive vibes about the five-year-old gelding and again mentioned he is a very good horse.
He added: "I didn't do much work with him after he won the last day but Davy (Russell) said he was better again today. He won't run on fast ground and will make a smashing chaser next season."
An hour later Russell was again in a hurry home when arriving late to win the Paulstown Handicap Hurdle on Burke's Sir Frederick.
Carrying top weight, Sir Frederick raced in mid-division before progressing to lead two out and although untidy at the last, kept on for a two-length win.
