See More Business can seal his place in the annals of steeplechasing by landing his third King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on St Stephen's Day. The 1999 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero looked as good as ever when pulverising his three rivals in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby in October.

And although there are some niggling doubts about the continuing effectiveness of the blinkers that have transformed his career, his course-and-distance form make him impossible to oppose.

Trainer Paul Nicholls reports: "He's in good order, everything has gone to plan and I'm looking forward to running him."

The only defeat See More Business has suffered since January 1999 came when he found the going too firm in last season's Gold Cup and he thrives in the forecast soft conditions.

There are question-marks about most of his principal rivals.

First Gold makes his British debut and has a tall reputation but may be at a disadvantage on a left-handed circuit, Beau is yet to show his sparkle this season while Edredon Bleu must be a doubtful stayer in a race where he is unlikely to be allowed an uncontested lead.

Florida Pearl looks each-way value at around the 5 to 1 mark. The Willie Mullins charge will be trying to give Ireland its first winner of the race since Captain Christy in 1975.

However Florida Pearl seems to have lost some of his old speed and could find See More Business too tough a nut to crack.

Nicholls looks set to enjoy a day to remember as he can also strike with Shotgun Willy in the Network Design Feltham Novices' Chase over the same three miles.

Nicholls sees Shotgun Willy as the natural successor to his star chaser and he has every reason to be optimistic on the evidence of the six-year-old's racecourse performances to date.

After winning all his four races over hurdles last term, Shotgun Willy is unbeaten in two races over the bigger obstacles.

Nicky Henderson has an exciting two-mile prospect in Dusk Duel, who can follow up his 15-length battering of Somemanforoneman in the Network Personnel Consultancy Wayward Lad Novices' Chase.

Expensive purchase Impek can surprise Champion Hurdle candidate Hitman in the novices' hurdle. Henrietta Knight's charge was bought at auction at auction in France after winning three times on the Flat this summer and is now owned by Jim Lewis, who has enjoyed such success with similar types Edredon Bleu and Best Mate.

As short as 10 to 1 for the Champion Hurdle, Hitman could go off at odds-on but has had terrible injury problems over the years and should be opposed.

Aghawadda Gold, runner-up to Nordance Prince in the Castleford Chase at Wetherby 12 months ago, can go one better in the two-mile limited handicap this time. Tom Tate's eight-year-old is reported to be in fine shape for his first race since finishing third to Samakaan in the Grand Annual Chase at Cheltenham in March and appears to have a handy weight.

Freetown and Direct Access can give trainer Len Lungo a double at Ayr.
