Byrne inspires Bray fightback

Bray Wanderers... 3 Derry City..

Bray Wanderers ... 3 Derry City ... 3 Inspired by two goals from striker Jason Byrne, Bray Wanderers came back from the dead at the Carlyle Grounds last night to grab a vital point in their bid to climb clear of the relegation zone.

Derry seemed all set for a fifth win in a row when defender Sean Hargan grabbed two first half goals to give the visitors' a 2-1 interval lead after Byrne gave the home side the lead after nine minutes. Former Irish striker David Kelly added a third on 53 minutes.

Bray refused to lie down and reduced the deficit when skipper Eddie Gormley fired home a penalty past the diving Gough after referee Alan Kelly adjudged that Eddie McCallion had handled in the box.

The drama continued when Bray got back on level terms on 75 minutes with striker Byrne grabbing his second goal of the night.
