Rugby Digest: Leinster second row Adam Byrnes has broken his nose, reports Johnny Watterson.
Byrnes sustained the injury during Leinster's defeat to Dragons last Saturday and was replaced by Ben Gissing late in the second half. Leinster's next Celitic League match is in two weeks' time against Connacht.
Leinster have sold a further 700 tickets for their Heineken European Cup quarter-final against Toulouse, bringing the total to close to 4,000 sold, almost 2,000 more than their previous away record set at Bath in the last round.
Ulster's game against Munster at Ravenhill on Friday 3rd March (kick-off 7.35pm) is also catching attention and has been designated an all-ticket match, which means that there will be no tickets for sale on the gate on the night of the match for the Ravenhill faithful.
Already around 8,500 tickets have been sold for what will be a top of the Celtic League table clash.
No firm decision
Following Wanderers rugby club submitting an observation to Dublin City Council, which has the potential to hold up the planning application for the redevelopment of Lansdowne Road Stadium, the Leinster Branch held a meeting last night and declined to explicitly support either side.
Following the meeting the Leinster Branch issued the following statement: "The management committee of the Leinster Branch met and arising from that meeting, unanimous support was given for the redevelopment of Lansdowne Road.
"The management committee welcomed the fact that there is an imminent meeting between Wanderers and the IRFU which they hope will lead to a speedy conclusion of all outstanding matters - particularly the issues of the stadium project and international tickets."
