Singapore OpenAngel Cabrera picked up his only birdie of the day at the final hole as he held off the challenge of Vijay Singh to win the Barclays Singapore Open by one stroke today.

The Argentinian was two over for the day at Sentosa Golf Club's Serapong Course through 17 holes and looked to be heading for a play-off with Singh after the Fijian rolled in a birdie at the par-five 18th to draw level for the lead on seven under.

But Cabrera played a magnificent clutch second shot to within 20 feet of the pin and two-putted for a round of one over par — an eight-under 276 total — and victory in the $4million  Asian Tour event.

Singh put pressure on Cabrera with a closing four-under-par 67 that included an eagle and four birdies but his round was also blighted by a pair of costly bogeys.

Adam Scott's challenge for a third consecutive win in Singapore never really materialised as the Australian carded an up-and-down round of 71 that included four birdies and four bogeys as he finished third on three-under-par 281.

American Jin Park was fourth on two under after a closing 74, while Lee Westwood was a further stroke back after also carding a 74.

The 34-year-old was within two strokes of Cabrera after consecutive birdies at the 10th and 11th but five bogeys at the final seven holes put paid to the Worksop pro's hopes of victory.

World number two Phil Mickelson struggled with three double bogeys and a triple bogey in a closing 79 that left him in a five-way tie for 23rd with a group that included Darren Clarke, who shot a final round 74.
