THURLES PREVIEW: TODAY'S GLEN Chase at Thurles features a couple of star performers in the former Cheltenham Bumper hero Hairy Molly and the 147-rated Scotsirish. However, both may come unstuck against Callherwhatulike.
The crucial factor this afternoon could be the three-mile distance over which Callherwhatulike is proven.
In contrast Scotirish's best moment came over two miles and five at last April's Punchestown festival. Two and a half looks more suitable at this stage of his career and testing ground today means the premium will be on stamina.
Before that Sher Why Not looks an interesting runner in the Beginners Chase. Always smart but plagued by injuries, the Colm Murphy-trained 10-year-old impressed with his jumping when runner-up to Irish Invader at Fairyhouse last April.
Sher Why Not wasn't beaten far behind Sole Bonne Femme on his comeback over hurdles at Down Royal earlier this month and that should put him spot on for this task.
The Cheltenham Festival runner-up Liskennett has the clear winning of the conditions hurdle at her best.
Another one to watch out for could be Browns Baily in the maiden hurdle provided he is forgiven a slightly disappointing fifth to Oscar Dan Dan at Punchestown last time out.
