THE Jockey Club in Britain expects to have collated the information relevant for its proposed inquiry into two recent controversial abandonments within the next week, its head of public affairs David Pipe said yesterday.

David McAllister, clerk of the course at Uttoxeter, and Ashley Bealby, his counterpart at Wolverhampton, will then be contacted in order to set a date for the disciplinary committee, inquiry.

McAllister was the subject of criticism for the abandonment of Uttoxeter's meeting on November 28th. During the morning he issued a bulletin describing the chances of racing as "50 50" before calling for an inspection at 12.45pm, once the first race had been put back by half an hour.

For Wolverhampton's card on St Stephen's Day, Bealby announced no problems at 7am but called it off two hours later without first having announced an official inspection.
