Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning combined to land the featured Denny Gold Medal Handicap with Cambodian in front of a modest attendance at a sun-drenched Leopardstown on Saturday.

The four-year-old colt, who missed all of last season due to a number of minor problems, was sent on over a furlong out, and held the challenge of Maytpleasethecourt by a head. "He may come back here for the Golden Pages Handicap, while the McDonogh Handicap at Galway is also a possible," said Bolger.

John Mulhern, trainer of Maytpleasethecourt, had gone one better half an hour earlier with Sacrementum in the MBNA Handicap. The Night Shift gelding was produced with a final furlong surge by leading apprentice Shane Kelly.
