Sol Campbell yesterday dropped his biggest hint yet that he is ready to part company with Tottenham Hotspur if they do not quickly pull out of their decline.
"I want to be at Tottenham now but after playing in the World Cup I'm more hungry," the 23-year-old Spurs captain said. "You get a taste of something like that and you want a bit more. That's more in my mind now.
"I'll just have to wait and see what happens at Tottenham. It's up to the manager (Christian Gross) and chairman (Alan Sugar) to build a team. The chairman is doing his best but Tottenham are getting left behind. You see other teams spending money and spending wisely. It hurts in the sense that you want to do well. "When you look at it, Tottenham have not really won anything for ages. I want to be a winner, and my ambition at Spurs is to win the championship, but I'll make the right decision on my future. Will I move to get the honours I want? You will have to wait and see."
