JOHN DUNLOP has his horses in fine form and stable stalwart Captain Horatius can provide the yard with another success at Windsor this evening. A smart and tough performer, the eight-year-old entire has earned connections over £350,000 in six campaigns and looks set to add to that tally in the Cheveley Park Stud Conditions Stakes over his best distance of 10 furlongs.

Captain Horatius has been well beaten in Listed company on both starts this season but the drop in class at the Thameside track provides the horse with the ideal opportunity to regain his confidence.

Captain Horatius's only success last term was an impressive two-and-a-half-length win over Wijara at Goodwood and he can recapture that form to land the nap, again at the expense of Wijara, who re-opposes on 3lb worse terms.

Best bet at Musselburgh is Durham Flyer in the Linlithgow Novice Auction Stakes over seven furlongs.

Tim Easterby's juveniles have been slow to come to hand this year but they struck form in a six-furlong event at Redcar earlier this month as Cumbrian Caruso came late to beat Durham Flyer by half a length to give the yard a one-two.

Third home that day was Mountain Song, who finished just a short-head behind the second, and he gave the form a real boost when trotting up by six lengths at Thirsk on his next outing.

Durham Flyer, who has scope for further improvement, will appreciate the longer trip today.
