Paul Carberry put his talents in the shop window at Perth on the day it was revealed that several trainers are seeking his services. He gave an impeccable display to deliver Dr Bones a winner in the Ernst and Young Novices' Chase.

Get Real, the 6 to 4 favourite, led at the last, but Carberry conjured up something extra from Dr Bones to land the spoils by two lengths.

"It's not easy being retained by an owner whose horses are not in the same yard," he said.

Dr Bones is trained by one of Carberry's greatest fans, Ferdy Murphy, who was in Ireland yesterday, leaving his son Paul to oversee Dr Bones's victory.
