The various Leinster Branch interclub competitions are reaching the closing stages. In the Barton Cup, Dundalk play Borris in one semi-final and Carlow, looking for a pennant in their centenary year, play Castle in the other.

Castle also reached the semi-finals of the Metropolitan Cup but lost 5 1/2 - 3 1/2 to Stackstown, who took three out of four away matches. Clontarf beat Portmarnock by the same score in the other semi-final. Wicklow take a one-point advantage into the second leg of the Provincial Towns Cup final after edging Delvin Castle 5-4 on Sunday and in the semi-finals of the junior foursomes, Beech Park beat Wexford by six holes and Skerries beat Naas by the same margin.
