WEXFORD SFC SEMI-FINALS:CASTLETOWN AND St Anne's, Rathangan turned on the style when setting up a county final meeting with decisive victories in their respective semi-finals at Wexford Park on Saturday evening.
St Anne’s looked hugely impressive when seeing off Sarsfields on a final scoreline of 2-12 to 0-7.
The opening 30 minutes saw little separate the sides with Red Barry kicking some great scores for the eventual winners, while points from Paul Murphy, Kevin Gore and Philip Cullen kept the town side in touch.
However Barry’s late penalty gave his side a 1-5 to 0-4 lead.
As the second half unfolded it was the south county side that took control and they quickly showed their superiority on the scoreboard.
The second semi-final was dominated by Castletown as St Martin’s failed to repeat the form they had shown in earlier round games with the north county side running out convincing 3-12 to 2-9 victors.
With Jesse Foley and Tomas Sheehy dominant in midfield, they had their final spot secured by the interval, by which stage they led 2-9 to 0-3.
