SCHOOLS GAA/Munster VS SF final and Ulster MacRory Cup SF final:Causeway Comprehensive  2-13 Scoil Phobail Bheara  2-11Causeway Comprehensive - thanks to the scoring exploits of corner forward Jersey Houlihan in the first half - were able to withstand a great second-half comeback by Beara to retain their title in this absorbing Munster Vocational Senior Schools A Football Final played at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney yesterday.

Beara came within a point of the champions with eight minutes to go, despite being 2-9 to 1-5 behind at the break. Houlihan, marked by three different defenders in the first half, managed to score 2-6 of that first-half total.

Causeway soon moved nine points clear before Beara powered into the game with a succession of points to narrow the gap to just five points at the end of the third quarter.

Then, in the 49th minute, Beara were given a major lifeline when O'Sullivan was taken down for a penalty and Harrington calmly despatched the penalty to the corner of the Causeway net. When Shane Lowney added a point a minute later, unbelievably Beara had closed the gap to a point 2-11 to 2-10, but Causeway held on to win.
