ULSTER MFC: Cavan 1-14 Antrim 2-8: POINTS BY Niall McDermott and substitute Mark Reilly gave Cavan victory over a gallant Antrim in this very competitive ESB Ulster minor football championship game in Casement Park yesterday.

Cavan started brilliantly with Gearóid McKiernan and Oisín Moynagh on top at midfield. They led by 0-7 to 0-2 after 20 minutes with Kevin Tierney and Niall Murray scoring two points each.

In the 10 minutes before the interval Antrim staged a great recovery sparked by a goal from corner forward Chris Loughran. When he added a point Antrim were back in contention.

Antrim's forceful play was rewarded four minutes into added time when a brilliant sideline kick was flicked to the Cavan net by Simon Dowds to leave it 2-3 to 0-7 at the interval.
