CBC Monkstown, well drilled and playing with purpose throughout, comfortably dispatched injury-hit Newpark at Stradbrook. Always looking to handle the ball, CBC were rewarded for their efforts with seven tries.
Centre Marcello O'Reilly, prominent at all stages, went over to open the scoring on eight minutes. Prop Michael MacHale ran 35 metres to increase the lead before Chris Mion made it 15-0 with just over a quarter hour gone. Newpark out-half Jason Lowe posted his side's only points with a well-taken penalty after 20 minutes.
CBC went further ahead with four second-half tries from firstly Shane Kerr, along with a second for McHale and a try each for Eoin O'Neill and Ciaran O'Toole.
