Rockwell won the bulk of the possession and did most of the pressing but had nothing to show for it at the end of yesterday's bruising Munster Schools Senior Cup quarter-final against holders CBC at Musgrave Park.

Christians scored two opportunist scores against the run of play in the first half and then grabbed another try before the interval.

Brendan Ronan paved the way for Eoin Daly to strike first blood in the 13th minute. Pat McCarthy converted the try before Ronan landing a drop goal. Then McCarthy took on Rockwell by himself with a lovely touchline run for a try, to which he added the points.

Rockwell did most of the attacking after the break and were rewarded with a consolation try nine minutes from the end by Anthony O'Sullivan, converted by Denis Leamy.
