RACING:HENRY CECIL has thrown down something of a gauntlet by stating he would relish a clash between his superstar colt Frankel and Aidan O'Brien's Classic hero Camelot. The legendary English trainer yesterday suggested York's Juddmonte Stakes in August as an ideal date for a clash that would fascinate the racing world.

Frankel is due to run in Royal Ascot’s Queen Anne Stakes while the Irish Derby is likely to be next for Camelot with a tilt at the Triple Crown also being considered by the Coolmore team.

“It would be very exciting to take on Camelot. He could do the Irish Derby, the Juddmonte and the St Leger,” Cecil said. “I’m doing the Sussex and three weeks after that the Juddmonte.”

He added: “He’s (Camelot) having the Irish Derby and a longer break before the Juddmonte and he can still do the Leger, so what’s the problem?

“Hopefully Frankel will go for the Juddmonte and I would love it if the other horse (Camelot) did go as well. That would be exciting.”
