Henrik Larsson was the top scorer - naturally. On this occasion the game was golf, at which the Celtic striker showed himself to be decidedly handy during a visit to the Ring of Kerry GC at Kenmare last Wednesday. Playing off the medal tees in blustery conditions, the 16-handicap Swede had a creditable 33 points to finish fourth in a competition won by Celtic supporter David McGinty.
"Larsson described it as the most relaxing day he has had in ages," said Ring of Kerry general manager Vincent Devlin after the Scottish party, which included 10 members of the team, left on Thursday morning.
The reason for the trip? "We have entered into a special agreement with Celtic which affords wheir shareholders and season-ticket holders preferential rates at out club," explained Devlin. "By way of launching the partnership, we had the Ring of Kerry/Celtic Football Club challenge on Wednesday.
