Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians:AS A former Bohemians player, Shamrock Rovers' midfielder Chris Turner knows all too well the Dalymount-based club would love nothing better than to upset their arch-rivals' title ambitions and finally get a result against them at Tallaght Stadium.
With a game in hand on leaders Sligo Rovers, victory in all five of their remaining matches, three of which are at home, will ensure Shamrock Rovers retain their title.
“They’ll not want us winning the league again so they’ll be coming here trying to beat us and upset us,” said Turner about Bohemians. “We’ve got to make sure they can’t do that. We have to get the three points because every game now is like a cup final for us. Whether we get them playing well or playing ugly, we just want the three points.
“Sligo are obviously looking very strong at the minute and they don’t look like making any slip-ups. We can’t slip up either. At the end of the day, if we win all our games we retain the title. So it’s in our hands still and that’s the main thing,” added the former Northern Ireland under-21 international.
With Craig Sives (groin) a doubt and Ken Oman, who has overcome a knee injury but has been unwell, manager Michael O’Neill has a call to make in central defence. Striker Dean Kelly remains out injured.
“The team played very well on Sunday against Drogheda and we’ll be looking to keep that momentum going,” said O’Neill. “Our aim is to win all our remaining games, and this one is no different.
“The players are all really looking forward to the game. Being against Bohemians means it looks after itself in that sense. We just want to keep playing well and keep winning in the league.”
Bohemians, who’ve lost all five league games played in Tallaght Stadium since it opened in 2009, expect captain Owen Heary to return from injury. Striker Christy Fagan may also return following a knee injury but midfielder Keith Buckley is a doubt having picked up a knock against St Pat’s.
