THE Simon Dow trained Chiefs Song, who ran a prominent race to before the second last flight in the Ladbroke Hurdle at Leopardstown in January, makes the journey from Epsom to contest tomorrow's £20,000 Murphy's Irish Stout Handicap Hurdle at the opening of the four day Killarney Spring meeting.
Chief's Song, who was pulled up an early stage in Cheltenham's County Hurdle, last won at Sandown in December when all out to beat Eskimo Nel in the valuable William Hill Handicap Hurdle.
Previously successful in a conditions hurdle at Cheltenham, this young hurdler has a good turn of foot and is taken to beat the smart Punchestown winner Mayasta, though I expect Paddy Prendergast's charge, Winter Belle, to run a big race.
Dissident Prince, a promising third behind better fancied stable companion Merawang in a 29 runner maiden at the Curragh last backend, can win the Three Lakes Hotel Maiden for John Oxx who has chances of a double with Garaiyba in the Dawn Reid Handicap. This filly recently won a handicap over a mile and a half at Sligo and should get the extra distance.
