Choi leapfrogs Harrington in standings

World Rankings:  Padraig Harrington has slipped one place in the latest edition of golf's world ranking after yesterday's Sony Open winner, KJ Choi, moved up two places to seventh.

The British Open champion remains inside the top 10 in ninth spot, while Choi moved up to seventh.  The South Korean carded a final round 71 at Waialae Country Club in Hawaii for a 14-under 266 winning aggregate.

South African Rory Sabbatini, who was three shots adrift of Choi in second spot, climbs one place to 10th in the world standings. Choi earned  US$954,000 for winning his seventh PGA title in the first event of the new PGA Tour season.

Darren Clarke moved up 25 places to 204th for his fourth-placed effort in yesterday's Joburg Open in Johannesburg. The Dungannon pro closed with a final round 68 for an 11-under 273 aggregate, two shots outside the three-man playoff, which was won by South Africa's Richard Sterne who is 33rd in the world.

Behind Harrington, Graeme McDowell is next best of the Irish and remains 108th. Paul McGinley is 209th, while Rory McIlroy is 230th.
