Clare 3-19 Down 0-5: CLARE HAD their expected facile win over Down in the All-Ireland minor hurling quarter-final in Mullingar on Saturday afternoon, the Banner boys winning out in the end by an unflattering 23-point margin.

It was virtually one-way traffic for the opening half-hour and great goals from Bobby Duggan and Shane O’Donnell had Clare 2-11 to 0-3 ahead at half-time. Niall Deasy added a goal in the 35th minute as Clare romped home.
