Leading by 1-3 to 0-5 at the break, Clare's Garry Brennan fisted to the net in the 17th minute. Their four-point lead was cancelled out late on when Offaly's Ciarán McManus converted a free before John O'Hara goaled. But Clare captain Michael O'Shea kicked the winner near the end.
