Clare 2-12 Leitrim 0-17:LEITRIM HAVE only themselves to blame for not coming away from Cusack Park, Ennis, yesterday with two league points.
In front of a paltry attendance, Leitrim dominated at midfield and lead by 0-9 to 0-5 at the break.
In the second period, the visitors forged ahead and led by 0-13 to 0-7 by the 47th minute. But a fortuitous goal by Barry Toner hauled Clare back into the game when his high dropping shot was fluffed by Leitrim goalkeeper Gareth Phillips.
Leitrim were leading by 0-16 to 1-10 when Clare sub Chris Dunning sent a long ball goalwards. An inrushing David Russell distracted the custodian and it ended up in the back of the net. After trading points it fell to David Tubridy to secure victory for the home side when he pointed in injury-time.
