Golf: Darren Clarke's victory at the Iberdola Open in Mallorca saw move from 124th to 88th in the official world rankings. The Dungannon man's three-shot win was his first in almost three years.
Graeme McDowell, who carded a 79 in his final round to drop dramatically out of contention for the The Players' Championship at Sawgrass yesterday, remains fifth, one place ahead of Rory McIlroy.
Pádraig Harrington missed the cut in Florida and drops two places to 43.
England have the top two golfers in the world after Luke Donald's fourth place finish in America. He needed to win to take top spot off Lee Westwood, but moves up from third to second with German Martin Kaymer coming 19th at Sawgrass.
Winner KJ Choi improves from 34th to 15th.
Donald has now had seven top 10 finishes in a row, including his World Match Play victory in Arizona in February, and 12 in his last 13 starts going back to last September.
Westwood did not make the trip to the Players Championship after winning his last two tournaments in Asia.
Tiger Woods stays eighth despite withdrawing through injury after nine holes, but is now only the third-ranked American behind Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker.
