Sheffield Utd 0 Arsenal 3When Eduardo arrived at the Emirates from Dinamo Zagreb this summer he was hyped as the "new Thierry Henry". Few Arsenal fans were convinced but the Brazilian-born Croatia striker undid Sheffield United last night with two goals even Henry would have treasured.
Eduardo's contribution had Arsene Wenger's side cantering into the fifth round, leaving Sheffield United's struggling manager, Bryan Robson, the focal point of fans' frustration.
Even the most diehard Blade could not help but admire Eduardo's opener. A left-foot strike sent swerving towards the top corner from the edge of the area. The goal orginated with a subtle pass out of defence from Alex Song which found Nicklas Bendtner on the right and he clipped the ball across to Eduardo.
It was refreshing to see Wenger employ several players in unaccustomed positions and permit them scope for improvisation. Eduardo used his left foot to claim his second goal. It arrived after a beautifully weighted long pass from Kieran Gibbs, the visiting left-back, which was controlled, seamlessly, by Eduardo. After that the scorer teased goalkeeper Ian Bennett by feinting to go one way before placing a low shots in the bottom corner.
Arsenal were not quite done and Denilson added their third after slaloming his way to the edge of the area and seeing his ensuing shot take a massive deflection off Chris Morgan en route beyond Bennett.
