Clogowes 26 Pres Bray 7:Pack dominance was the deciding factor for Clongowes at North Kildare yesterday. First half tries from prop Fergus Nolan and captain and number eight Jack Dilger set the platform for the win as they led 12-0 at half-time.
Aaron Thompson's try early in the second half, after a series of crushing drives had sucked in the cover, put the verdict beyond doubt although Pres never stopped trying, with fullback Brian Maher outstanding.
Bray were rewarded when scrumhalf John Carroll charged down David Quirke's clearance and won the race to touch down.
Clongowes spent the remainder in their opponents' half, with sub Jack McMahon racing over for his side's fourth try just before the end. Thompson converted - his third.
