CLONTARF preserved their healthy lead in Section A of the River House League by holding out for another tame draw at Kimmage yesterday evening. Resuming on 104 for 5, they had just 11.4 overs to survive and did so for the loss of just one further wicket.
The scenes at Anglesea Road were a little more dramatic, with fielders crowding the bat and bowlers in high dudgeon when appeals did not go their way. It was CYM who were holding out for a draw in this case and they were helped somewhat by the murky lights.
