Wales Grand Slam winner Brent Cockbain has stunned the Ospreys by handing a transfer request just a week after being axed from Wales's provisional 41-man World Cup plans.
Cockbain, 32, is under contract for another season but has told the Magners Celtic League champions he wants out.
Sale Sharks are leading the chase to sign the 6ft 8in lock, who has turned down a new deal at the Liberty Stadium.
Cockbain said: "I have asked to be released from my contract with the Ospreys but I'm still waiting to hear back from them."
Cockbain's long-term future at the Ospreys has been in doubt since they signed Wales's Six Nations forward Ian Gough from Newport-Gwent Dragons last month.
And the emergence of youngsters Ian Evans and Alun Wyn Jones this season also threatens to limit Cockbain's chances next season.
Ulster yesterday confirmed that promenade and terrace tickets for the Ireland v Italy fixture at Ravenhill on August 24th will be available to purchase from Ravenhill.
Ulster season-ticket holders will be given priority in purchasing tickets before they go on general sale. Season-ticket holders will be able to buy tickets from Monday, July 2nd, and the remainder of the tickets will go on general sale from July 9th.
