Colaiste Iosagain 0-10 Marist College 1-4:RECENT WINNERS of the All-Ireland B championship Coláiste Íosagáin reached the quarter-finals of this year's championship at Portarlington yesterday.
Marist had only themselves to blame because despite playing into the breeze in the opening half, they completely dominated early exchanges but hit wide after wide and in the opening half their only reward was a point by Alan Coffey.
Coláiste Íosagáin led by 0-3 to 0-1 and when full forward Eoin Finlay added his third point the home team led 0-7 to 0-1.
The second half saw both sides awarded a penalty, first Peter Cunningham pointed for the home team but a minute later Alan Coffey saw his effort graze the upright.
Eight minutes from time full forward Aaron Curley boxed a goal to reduce the margin to a goal and although Coffey added another point it was Finlay who secured a meeting against Dundalk College with the last kick of the game.
