DERRY SFC: THE DERRY final will be a clash of a new force versus a traditional powerhouse after Coleraine and Ballinderry booked berths in the county showpiece on October 4th.

In only their third season in the senior ranks the Eoghan Rua men claimed a final spot with a 1-9 to 1-7 win over Ballinascreen at Claudy.

Ballinderry’s 3-10 to 1-15 win over Lavey at Greenlough last night felt almost like larceny. The Loughshore men trailed by 1-14 to 1-10 as the match entered injury time.

But two goals, one from Gavin McGeehan, the other from James Conway four minutes into added time, settled it.
