Down 1-17 Galway 2-11: Down and Galway served up a masterclass of football in this absorbing quarter-final in Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday.

The sides were level four times during the opening 15 minutes and when Galway's Owen Concannon scored a goal in the 18th minute, Down responded with a goal by Martin Clarke.Down led by 1-10 to 2-6 at the break. Galway drew level in the 40th minute but Down went four points ahead with two minutes remaining and a fisted point by James Colgan sealed victory.
