Trinity, who were denied the Wiley Cup for best university crew in last weekend's university championships by UCC, hope to get back on track with a win in the annual colours race with UCD, tomorrow on the Liffey.

Trinity have not lost the Gannon Cup since 1994 and William Gilbert, who will row in the sixth seat, is attempting to win for the fourth time. But UCD, who talked a good show last year only to be comprehensively beaten, will probably not be so easily beaten this year, as they are being coached by strong motivator Peter Buckley.

The race is scheduled for approximately 1.30, and starts near Sean Heuston bridge.

In other news, the Irish lightweight four take on the world's best in the Danish lightweight four at the Cologne regatta tomorrow and Sunday.
