Little Common Wheatsheaf of Bexhill lost to Oddfellows in a penalty shoot-out at the end of an amateur cup match in East Sussex last week, Ananova tells us. Afterwards? Referee Neal Ager was locked in his dressing room for 15 minutes by angry Little Common players because he hadn't disallowed a last-minute equaliser by Oddfellows. Ager was finally freed, just before the police, who he had called on his mobile phone, arrived.

The Sussex FA is investigating. The best bit? A Little Common spokesman insisted: "there's nothing in the constitution saying you mustn't lock a referee in the changing room".
