Celtic League / Llanelli v Connacht: Each week Connacht have been presented with a challenge and each week they've risen to it and silenced the scoffers.

Today represents the biggest challenge of them all as Michael Bradley and his side sweep into Stradey Park and try to rumble the, so far, unbeaten Llanelli Scarlets, a team who have already earned the distinction of taking Munster's scalp in Thomond Park.

Make no mistake, Llanelli are bullish about this one, and they go into the match as firm favourites having won their first three league games and first-round cup match, against Gwent Dragons.

The sides have not faced each other before and Connacht may go into it without their primary kicker, Eric Elwood, who remains a 50-50 bet to start.

Still Mark McHugh, at full back, has been confident with the boot and, interestingly, his level of accuracy in kicking places him marginally ahead of Llanelli's Gareth Bowen. Bowen has kicked 18 out of 22 (81.8 percent) and McHugh six out of seven (85.7 per cent).

Bowen, though is even outscoring Neil Jenkins, his 58 points one better than the legendary outhalf's 57.

Conor McPhilips, who again lines out on the wing, is also in elevated company as he and three other players top the try-scoring list with three each.

The young Connacht front row stood up well last week while Tom Carter may freshen up the back row in his first start of the season alongside Paul Neville and John O'Sullivan.

Despite Connacht's win last week, Llanelli will want to protect their home record and are determined to win a trophy this season.

So far they have been making the right moves, making this Connacht's toughest game to date.
