Derry City ... 1 UCD ... 0UCD remain anchored to the bottom of the Premier Division table following a controversial defeat at the Brandywell.
Referee John McDermott, having consulted with an assistant, awarded the winning goal in the 77th minute - a decision which saw him escorted from the pitch at the end due to prolonged protests from the UCD players.
The game's defining moment came after Derry substitute Jamie Hughes got his head to a Sean Friars cross to send the ball goalwards, and while defender Clive Delaney appeared to hook the ball clear, the referee ruled that it had crossed the line.
Up until that point, the students were good value for a share of the spoils.
