Phil Cordingly (England) qualified to meet Ireland's Simon Williams in the final of the Irish croquet championships at Carrickmines yesterday.

In contrasting semi-finals, Cordingly had to battle for six hours to overcome Don Gaunt but Williams, a losing finalist five times in recent years, had a convincing win over David Kibble.
